Overview
Not everyone wants the caldera. Pyrgos, the old capital, is a hill village of narrow lanes and blue domed churches, with the whole island laid out below it and the sea on both sides. The three Whitewash villas sit just outside the village walls, each with three or four bedrooms, a twelve to fifteen metre pool and a shaded dining terrace. A housekeeper comes daily, a chef can be booked for any meal and a driver is available by the day. It is the right choice for families or two couples who want space, privacy and somewhere to come back to after the sunset crowds. Oia is twenty five minutes by car.
