Riad Dar Zéphyr
A nine room riad behind an unmarked door in the medina, with a courtyard pool, a rooftop facing the Atlas and a cook who shops the souk each morning.
Overview
Dar Zéphyr is three riads knocked together around two courtyards, one with a pool and orange trees, the other with a fountain and a fire in winter. The nine rooms and suites are individually decorated with zellige tiles, tadelakt walls and Berber rugs bought locally. The rooftop looks across the medina to the Atlas Mountains, snow capped from December to April, and is where breakfast is served and where drinks happen at sunset. The cook, Fatima, has been with the house twelve years and will teach you her tagine if you ask. The Jemaa el-Fna is a seven minute walk, and the house sends a porter to meet you at the nearest square because you will not find the door alone the first time.
